What should you pay attention to when using a polishing machine?

  1. The angle between the polishing disc and the car paint surface
    Under normal circumstances, the polishing disc and the polished surface should have a small inclination angle of less than 30 degrees. This is because when the inclination of the polishing machine is relatively large, the paint surface will heat up quickly, and the friction on the edge of the polishing disc will increase, which will easily damage the paint and cause the contact area of the polishing disc surface to change. narrow.
  2. The pressure when using the polishing machine
    The purpose of polishing and grinding is to grind the paint surface evenly and lay the foundation for subsequent maintenance operations. As a foundation, it is necessary to find ways to control the pressure of polishing to a certain extent.
    The pressing pressure is based on the weight of the polishing machine itself, and the weight of the polishing machine on the flat surface is used as the basis. There is no need to use too much pressure. Even if the polishing operation is performed on the side, the same pressure as the flat surface needs to be used. Do not increase or decrease the pressure, as this will prevent uneven polishing caused by uneven pressure. For example, some parts are severely polished and some parts are lighter, resulting in apertures or scratches that have not been removed.
    When polishing, try to avoid increasing local pressure. Excessive polishing will cause uneven grinding surfaces, polishing boundaries, polishing scars, etc. If local heating is severe, it may even lead to polishing burnout.
  3. Polishing model and range issues
    The scope of polishing is due to the different shapes and sizes of car bodies, so it can be controlled within a certain range according to the characteristics of the car model, with shoulder width as the boundary. If it is too wide, you will need to rely on arm strength to apply uneven force, and your physical strength will also be reduced. It will be difficult to support and will also cause uneven polishing surface.
  4. Appropriate polishing movement speed
    The abrasive on the polishing machine and the disk forms a more suitable speed during grinding. If the speed is too fast or too slow, the pressure cannot be controlled, the cutting amount will not be reached, and “uneven friction” will occur.
    If the car’s disk has a complex shape, it needs to be polished in a tic-tac-toe shape, that is, moving vertically and horizontally.
  5. Coincidence of mobile polishing
    The traces left by the polished disk on the car paint are approximately 1/2 of the area of the disk that overlaps and moves each time.
  6. Treatment of deep scratches
    There are various reasons for scars on the surface of the paint, and the depth of the scars varies. For this reason, deep scratches cannot be eliminated by polishing alone. For particularly deep scratches, we must use sandpaper of 2000 or more grits to deal with them, and then polish them.
